Caroline Hogg :

Most people have little idea of what politicians actually do.  Here the Honorable Caroline Hogg MLC … to give Caroline her full title, talks about her life and responsibilities as a Victorian Government Minister, and what eventuated after she left parliament.

We discuss the good and bad times in parliament, as well as personal triumphs and disappointments.  There are a couple of stories which graphically demonstrate the pressure of responsibility which politicians take on all our behalf.

Caroline explains the strict discipline necessary to deal with the crippling workload of parliamentary and party expectations, and how that translated into her private life after she resigned her seat.

Life after parliament did not turn out to be the relaxed country living she was looking forward to enjoying, as friends and colleagues heaped further responsibilities on her plate.

You will be fascinated to learn about politics from the inside.  I do not know if Caroline is typical of all politicians or Government Ministers, but she represents the values and ideals of the best of them … whichever party they represent.
